What to do if you are concerned about a child's safety or welfare.

Emergencies:

If a child is in immediate danger, left alone or missing, contact the police and/or ambulance service directly on 999.

Non Professionals / Parents, Carers and Young People:

If there is no immediate danger or if you need advice, contact the Northamptonshire Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub:

Designated Safeguarding Leads

 

At Braunston CE Primary School, we regard the safeguarding of children as our main priority. We believe that we all have the right to be happy, to be safe and to learn. We all have a responsibility to make this happen.

We will ensure that:

  • The welfare of the child remains paramount.
  • All children whatever their age, culture, disability, gender, language, racial origin, religious beliefs and/ or sexual identity have the right to be protected from harm.
  • All suspicions and allegations of abuse will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly and appropriately.
  • All staff and volunteers working at our school have a responsibility to report concerns to Mrs Lianna Willis (Designated Safeguarding Lead) or Mrs Nikki Sawyer or Miss Vicky Tant or Mrs Rebecca Craig (Deputy Safeguarding Leads)

Safeguarding / Child Protection Policy

All staff have an up-to-date understanding of safeguarding children issues and are able to implement the safeguarding children policy and procedures appropriately. Policies are in line with current guidance and procedures. Staff will be vigilant in order to maintain the safety of our children.

Our approach to safeguarding children is a collaborative one, so that early support and intervention can be offered to families.  However, our overwhelming priority will always be the welfare of the child.

If you have any serious concerns about your child, another child or a member of staff at our School please do not hesitate to contact the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) by calling the school on 01788 890494 or by emailing who will be able to provide you with the best advice and help using the appropriate degree of confidentiality.  If you are concerned that a child is in immediate danger of serious risk or harm please contact the Police immediately
